About Department

Introduction

The Department of Binocular vision (Orthoptics) is one of the departments of the Faculty of Optometry, which has special specifications, as it is a medical, scientific, training and service at the same time, has been established since 2005. And this section at the University of Al-Neelain is a qualitative leap in the development of the university and its career of high-end science in the most prestigious western universities.

Vision

The preparation of cadres distinguished scientifically, professionally and morally, cadres with values and positive trends and armed knowledge and knowledge qualify them to be creative leaders working to develop themselves and their profession in a stimulating environment characterized by professional responsibility and community partnership.

Mission

Graduation of generations of competent orthodontists with knowledge and scientific skills in the field of orthodontics.

Admission requirements:

1. The student should pass the 4 years programs.

2. Should get at least very good in ocular anatomy, ophthalmology, clinical optometry and binocular vision.

3. The motive is of high importance.

Time of the program

The program is two semesters one academic year 16 weeks for each semester.

Graduation:

 Students are eligible to graduate with B.Sc. ( honor) in binocular vision when they have successfully completed  the four years ( 8 semesters) of general optometry plus one year (2 semesters) in binocular vision department. 


Head of the department word:

Other vision assessment areas include the care of children and adolescents with developmental disorders and their outcomes. In such cases, cases of dyslexia should be overlooked as one of the main causes may be difficulty in vision or hearing. Our vision assessment section provides diagnosis and treatment for the following cases: Poor vision (lazy eyes) Problems with children's period.

The Department also consern about  preparing students who enjoy the values of honesty, honesty, teamwork, patience, commitment, and community responsibility. Encouraging excellence and innovation by providing a distinctive academic environment for scientific research. Participate actively in community service.
