Education
Awad received his earlier education in the Sudan. In 1975, he was awarded a B.Sc. (Honors) in Mathematical Sciences (Faculty of Mathematical Science, University of Khartoum, Sudan). In 1977, he did Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics using Computer Methods (The Mathematical Institute University of Kent at Canterbury, England). For his postgraduate studies, he went to the University of New Castle Upon - Tyne (England), where, in 1978, he obtained an M.Sc. in Numerical Computation. In the same year, he returned to the University of New Castle Upon - Tyne (England) to do research for his doctorate in Computing Science and he obtained a PhD degree in 1981. In 1984, he did Professional Diploma in Computerized Information Systems (Torino Vocational Centre, Italy).
Academic field
Awad's main academic field is Computing Science, and his minor fields are Mathematics and Statistics with some books on various aspects of these fields. Most of his research is on Computing Science.
Academic career
Awad began his academic career in 1976 when he was appointed by the University of Khartoum as a teaching assistant in Computer Center and School of Mathematical Science. He was promoted to Lecturer in Computing Science in 1978, a position he retained until 1981, when he promoted to Assistant Professor and he held this position until 1990 when he promoted to Associate Professor of Computing Science at University of Khartoum. In 1994 he promoted to Professor of Computing Science from Al Shark University (Sudan).
