The application of stem cell science began at Al-Neelain University since 2009, where it was a joint doctoral thesis under the supervision of Professor Emad Mohamed Fadl Al-Mawla (Al-Neelain University) and Professor Hala Gabr Metwally (Cairo University) for the student Heba Badr Al-Din Khalil at the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences. The vision was to develop the faculty, curricula and students with this modern science. But the message was deeper than that, which was the establishment of a special center for stem cells to start research and treatment projects after the participation of Dr. Heba Badr El-Din Khalil on behalf of Al-Neelain University in the stem cell treatment of knee roughness project (project manager) at the Cell Therapy Center at the University of Jordan, which was supported by the University of Jordan In Jordan, he was supervised by the Stem Cell Therapy Center under the care and supervision of the Professor. Abdullah Owaidi Al-Abadi, Professor of Hematology and Stem Cells. The Council of Al-Neelain University issued the approval to establish the center and Professor Kamal Hashem Banawi (University President) approved his administrative decision No. 156 to establish and establish the Al-Neelain Stem Cell Center in July 2017, the first of its kind in Sudan.
