Education

- January/2016 awarded PhD degree in Geology from the University of Pretoria, South - Africa.

- November /2006 M.Sc. in Geology (Economic Geology).

- 1998-2002, B.Sc. (Geology-Economic Geology) 1st class, (Honors), Faculty of science and technology, Alneelain University-Khartoum-Sudan.

Academic Research

In Ph.D. thesis entitled: Mineralogical characterization of gold ore from the Barberton greenstone belt, South Africa, I studied the geology and chemistry of rocks and associated ore-minerals from three mines (Sheba, Fairview, and New Consort). The aim of the study was to characterize the trace elements chemistry of gold and associated minerals. This information not only contributes to our understanding of the ore-forming processes, but would also support the identification of the source of gold of unknown origin (like stolen gold recovered by the police authorities). This work makes a substantial contribution to our understanding of ore forming processes and crime fighting efforts.

Teaching Experience

2003-2006: Teaching assistant in Faculty of Petroleum and Minerals, Alneelain University-Sudan.

November /2006: appointed as lecturer at Alneelain University- Sudan.

August/2016: appointed as assistant professor at Alneelain University- Sudan.
