"Give good tidings to the patient who, when disaster strikes them, says, indeed we belong to Allah, and  indeed to him we shall return. Those are the ones upon whom are blessings from their Lord  and mercy. And  it is those who are rightly guided.”
The Rector of the University, Prof. Al-Hadi Adam Mohammed  Ibrahim, and his deputy,  Prof. Khaled Abdel Rahman Al-Sayed,  Dr. Ali Muhammad Ali, the university principal , and the staff of faculty of Arts and all employees of the university, extend their heartful condolences on the death of the deceased :
Prof. Ibrahim Mousa Mohamed Hamdoun 
Director General of the General Authority of Antiquities  and Museums, Professor at the faculty of Arts, former head of the Department of Archeology at the Faculty, and former Dean of the Center for the Dialogue of Civilizations,  who passed away on Sunday, January 14/ 2024, AD in the Arab Republic of Egypt due to an illness that did not last for so  long .
The deceased is considered as one of the most distinguished professors of archaeology science  in Sudanese and Arab universities. He graduated from Khartoum University  with first class honors in 1972 and received a master's degree from the University of Geneva and a doctorate from Cambridge. He was one of  the companions and students of the  Swiss archaeologist Charlie Bonnet in a number of his archaeological discoveries in northern Sudan. Moreover, the deceased worked at the University of Khartoum , Libyan and Yemeni universities. The deceased professor was known for his gentle  manners, a very likable person, easy going  and a nice man, dedicated to serve  science , the university, and the students as well. May Allah have mercy on him and sincere condolences to his family, students and colleagues with patience and solace to bear the death.
