The department of pharmacology is concerned with teaching the students of the Faculty of Pharmacy the basics of pharmacology in addition to toxicology and clinical pharmacy from the fifth to the tenth semester, together with the practical application of the theoretical lessons. The department as well involves teaching the basic sciences of physiology, anatomy, and pathology from the second to the fifth semester

Vision

  •  An on-going qualification and training for the teaching staff of the department in order to improve the academic performance.
  •    Provision of appropriate environment and all educational scientific means to enable the students to understand the subject and work to graduate a professional students.
  •    Provision of all helping factors and perfect planning to conduct scientific researches

Mission

  •    To develop the profession of pharmacy as well as the society service programs, by the participation of qualified teaching staff, faculty graduates and students.

 

  • To learn the students pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, drug interactions, contraindications and clinical uses.
  • To learn the students the toxic, teratogenic and carcinogenic effects of the various substances on the human body and its antidotes and antitoxins.
  • To learn the students the basic sciences (anatomy, functions and pathophysiology of the major organs and systems).
  •  To learn the students drug and dose individualization, patient counseling and to practice the science of clinical pharmacy.
  •  To carry out scientific research on drugs and medicinal plants at the level of the B.Sc.  students as well as the post graduate studies for master and doctorate degrees by research.

 

The faculty offers the basic scientific degree (B.pharm) as well as master (M.pharm). And PHD of pharmaceutical sciences. The four different departments do not offer a scientific degree but supervise the scientific research at the undergraduate as well as postgraduate levels. In addition to perform students teaching according to the accredit curriculum and credit hours
